The RIGOL DHO900 Series combines 12-bit vertical resolution with up to 250 MHz bandwidth, a maximum real-time sample rate of 1.25 GSa/s and up to 50 Mpts of memory. Its low-noise signal path and 200 μV/div minimum sensitivity support small-signal measurements, while standard protocol decoding and digital channels provide a flexible platform for embedded-system debugging.
The compact enclosure supports USB-C power, multiple desktop positions and VESA-compatible mounting. All models include 16 digital channels, although digital acquisition requires the separately purchased PLA2216 logic probe. DHO914S and DHO924S models additionally provide a single-channel 25 MHz waveform generator and Bode Plot analysis.
Key Features
-
12-bit vertical resolution: Provides 4096 quantization levels—16 times the number available from an 8-bit converter—for clearer examination of small waveform variations and power-supply ripple.
-
Up to 250 MHz analog bandwidth: Supports measurements across embedded electronics, digital systems, control circuits and power-electronics development.
-
Four analog channels: Allows several related circuit nodes to be acquired and compared simultaneously.
-
Up to 1.25 GSa/s real-time sampling: Captures signal transitions with the timing detail required for circuit debugging and waveform analysis.
-
Up to 50 Mpts memory depth: Retains detailed waveform information across longer acquisitions and supports investigation of intermittent events.
-
Up to 1,000,000 waveforms per second: UltraAcquire mode increases the probability of capturing rare glitches and abnormal signal behavior.
-
Standard protocol decoding: Supports I²C, SPI, RS232/UART, CAN and LIN buses for embedded and automotive communication analysis.
-
Sixteen standard digital channels: Enables correlated analog and digital debugging when used with the separately purchased PLA2216 logic probe.
-
Waveform search and navigation: Helps users locate relevant events and signal anomalies within long waveform records.
-
7-inch capacitive touchscreen: The 1024 × 600 display, 256-level intensity grading and Flex Knob support direct waveform interaction and clearer visualization of signal activity.
Serial Bus and Mixed-Signal Debugging
The DHO900 Series supports triggering and decoding for I²C, SPI, RS232/UART, CAN and LIN buses. Decoded information can be displayed alongside the waveform or organized in an event table, helping users correlate protocol data with electrical signal behavior.
All models provide 16 digital input channels as standard. Operation of these channels requires the optional PLA2216 logic probe, which must be purchased separately. With the probe connected, users can examine analog and digital activity together during embedded hardware and firmware debugging.
Bode Plot and Waveform Generation on S Models
The DHO914S and DHO924S include a single-channel 25 MHz function/arbitrary waveform generator and Bode Plot analysis. These functions support switch-mode power supply loop-response measurements and amplitude-frequency characterization of circuits and components. They are not standard functions on non-S DHO900 models.
Portable and Space-Saving Operation
The USB-C power interface allows the oscilloscope to operate from a compatible portable power bank, supporting on-site circuit maintenance and field measurements. The compact housing can be positioned flat, tilted or vertically and supports a rear universal bracket or VESA-compatible monitor mount to preserve bench space.
Connectivity
USB Device, USB Host, LAN and HDMI interfaces are included as standard across the series. These connections support peripheral integration, data transfer, remote operation and external display workflows.
Applications
- Embedded hardware and firmware debugging
- I²C, SPI and UART communication analysis
- CAN and LIN troubleshooting in automotive electronics
- Simultaneous analog and digital signal investigation
- Power-supply ripple and low-level signal measurement
- Switch-mode power supply loop analysis with S models
- Electronics laboratories and engineering education
- Equipment maintenance and portable field testing
Model Selection
Select the required DHO900 model according to bandwidth and application needs. The DHO914S and DHO924S add the single-channel 25 MHz waveform generator and Bode Plot analysis. Non-S models should not be assumed to include these functions. All models support 16 digital channels, but the PLA2216 logic probe required for digital acquisition is sold separately.
Why Choose the DHO900 Series?
The DHO900 Series is suited to users who need high-resolution analog acquisition and embedded protocol analysis in a compact instrument. Its 12-bit architecture, deep memory, fast waveform capture and standard digital channels support detailed troubleshooting, while USB-C power and flexible mounting make it practical for both laboratory and mobile use.
