The UNI-T MSO1000HD Series is a portable 12-bit digital oscilloscope platform offering up to 250 MHz bandwidth, a maximum real-time sample rate of 2.5 GSa/s and up to 100 Mpts of memory. It combines waveform acquisition with serial bus analysis, power analysis and additional test functions for embedded development, power electronics, education and field diagnostics.
Depending on the selected model and probe configuration, the platform can provide up to nine test and analysis functions in one compact instrument. Standard protocol decoding and twelve included power analysis tools reduce dependence on separate instruments and additional software licenses. Bode Plot analysis and the function/arbitrary waveform generator are limited to S models, while logic analysis requires the optional UT-M26 logic probe.
Key Features
-
12-bit signal acquisition: Provides greater vertical detail than conventional 8-bit acquisition, supporting closer examination of small waveform variations.
-
Up to 250 MHz bandwidth and 2.5 GSa/s sampling: Supports detailed acquisition of signals used in embedded systems, digital electronics and power-conversion development.
-
Up to 100 Mpts memory depth: Preserves waveform detail over longer acquisition periods and helps users investigate intermittent or widely separated events.
-
Multifunction test platform: Combines an oscilloscope, protocol analyzer, frequency counter, DVM, power analyzer and FFT spectrum analyzer in one portable device.
-
Protocol decoding included: UART, I²C, SPI, Audio, CAN, CAN FD and LIN decoding are available as standard without an additional software license.
-
Twelve standard power analysis tools: Supports input, switching and output measurements for power supply characterization, debugging and validation.
-
Bode Plot and waveform generation on S models: MSO1000HD-S configurations add Bode Plot analysis and an integrated function/arbitrary waveform generator.
-
Optional mixed-signal analysis: Digital logic analysis is available when the instrument is used with the optional UT-M26 logic probe.
-
USB-C PD 3.0 power support: Operation from a compatible USB Power Delivery power bank enables testing where an AC outlet is unavailable.
-
VESA mounting compatibility: Allows monitor-style positioning to improve viewing comfort and preserve usable bench space.
Standard Protocol Analysis
The MSO1000HD Series includes decoding for UART, I²C, SPI, Audio, CAN, CAN FD and LIN buses. These functions support embedded-system development and troubleshooting without requiring an additional protocol software option. Engineers can correlate bus activity with acquired waveforms to identify communication errors, timing problems and signal-integrity issues.
Power Analysis
Twelve power analysis functions are included as standard and are organized around input, switching and output evaluation:
-
Input analysis: Power quality, harmonic analysis and inrush current.
-
Switching analysis: Switching loss, Safe Operating Area, slew rate and steady-state on-resistance.
-
Output analysis: Ripple, modulation, power efficiency, transient response and ON/OFF time.
These measurements support power supply characterization, converter stability evaluation, switching-device analysis, efficiency testing and system verification.
Applications
- Embedded-system development and serial bus debugging
- CAN, CAN FD and LIN analysis in automotive electronics
- Switching power supply and power converter evaluation
- Power quality, efficiency and transient-response testing
- Electronics laboratories and engineering education
- Equipment maintenance and on-site troubleshooting
- Portable measurements using a compatible USB-C PD power bank
Model and Option Selection
Core specifications vary within the series, with bandwidth configurations reaching up to 250 MHz. Bode Plot analysis and the function/arbitrary waveform generator are available only on MSO1000HD-S models. Logic analyzer operation requires the optional UT-M26 logic probe. Confirm the bandwidth, model-specific functions and included accessories before ordering.
