The Linshang LS162 and LS162A are portable window tint transmission meters for simultaneously measuring visible light transmittance, ultraviolet rejection and infrared rejection. Their 8mm measurement slot accepts window film, laminated glass and automotive side windows, making the meters suitable for tint installation, vehicle inspection, product demonstrations and film quality control.

Both models provide the same visible-light and UV measurement capabilities. The key difference is the infrared wavelength: the LS162 measures at 940nm, while the LS162A measures at 1400nm. This allows buyers to select the instrument according to the heat-control technology used by the film.

Three Optical Measurements

  • Visible light transmittance: Measures across 380nm–760nm in accordance with the CIE photopic luminosity response.
  • UV rejection: Evaluates ultraviolet blocking performance at 365nm.
  • IR rejection: Measures infrared rejection at 940nm or 1400nm, depending on the selected model.

8mm Slot for Film and Glass

The measurement slot accepts transparent materials below 8mm thick. Unlike pocket meters intended only for loose film samples, the LS162 and LS162A can directly test solar film, laminated glass, film-coated glass and many installed automotive side windows.

Model Differences & Selection

  • LS162 – 940nm IR measurement: Choose the LS162 for absorbing window films, which commonly demonstrate representative infrared rejection performance at 940nm.
  • LS162A – 1400nm IR measurement: Choose the LS162A for metallic and reflective heat-control films, whose infrared rejection performance is better represented at 1400nm.

The two instruments measure different infrared bands. Select the model according to the film technology and use the same wavelength when comparing products to maintain consistent test conditions.

Instant Measurement

Place the film or glass in the measurement slot and the instrument immediately displays visible light transmittance, UV rejection and IR rejection. No complicated configuration or manual calculation is required.

Real-Time Dynamic Calibration

When the measurement slot is empty, the meter automatically returns to its reference state. This real-time dynamic calibration helps maintain stable readings during repeated measurements and comparative testing.

Data Hold Function

Press the HOLD button to retain the measured values after removing the sample. This makes results easier to read and record when the instrument is positioned around an installed vehicle window or held at an inconvenient viewing angle.

Portable Battery Operation

Both models are powered by four replaceable AAA alkaline batteries. Automatic shutdown after 3minutes of inactivity reduces unnecessary power consumption during workshop and mobile use.

Why Choose the LS162 Series?

The LS162 and LS162A combine portable operation with an 8mm measurement slot, allowing the same instrument to test both loose film and finished glass. The choice of 940nm or 1400nm IR measurement also enables more relevant testing for different absorbing, metallic and reflective film technologies.
