The OWON OEL15/30/60 Series comprises compact programmable DC electronic loads with voltage configurations from 150 V to 600 V, current ratings from 15 A to 30 A and power capacities of 150 W or 300 W. CV, CC, CR and CP operating modes support repeatable testing of power supplies, batteries, chargers, adapters, LED drivers and DC converters.

Dynamic current testing up to 5 kHz, adjustable current slew rates and Remote Sense help engineers evaluate transient response and voltage regulation under changing load conditions. High-resolution readback, SCPI commands and USB or serial connectivity support both manual laboratory work and automated production testing.

CV, CC, CR and CP Operating Modes

  • Constant Voltage: Adjusts the drawn current to maintain the programmed input voltage, supporting charger and voltage-regulation tests.
  • Constant Current: Draws a fixed current for power supply, adapter, battery and LED driver evaluation.
  • Constant Resistance: Simulates a resistive load from 0.05 Ω to 7.5 kΩ.
  • Constant Power: Adjusts current as voltage changes to maintain the selected power level.

Dynamic Load Testing

Dynamic current mode alternates automatically between two programmed current levels. Users can configure the duration of each level and independently control the rise and fall slew rates, allowing the load to reproduce rapid changes in system demand.

Dynamic operation reaches 5 kHz, with T1 and T2 settings from 0.1 ms to 50 seconds and a minimum rise time of 20 μs. These controls support power supply transient-response testing, stability evaluation and load-step verification.

Remote Sense and Measurement Readback

Remote Sense compensates for voltage loss across long or high-current test leads by measuring voltage directly at the device under test. This provides a more representative view of DUT output voltage during current loading.

Voltage readback provides 1 mV resolution, current readback provides 0.1 mA resolution and power readback provides 10 mW resolution. These measurements allow programmed load conditions and actual DUT behavior to be monitored together.

The protection system limits stress on the load and device under test during incorrect setup, abnormal DUT behavior or extended high-power operation.

Automation and Optional Test Functions

USB Device and RS232 interfaces are supported as standard, with optional RS485 connectivity available for serial system integration. SCPI commands allow the load mode, setpoints and measurements to be controlled from automated test software.

The optional OEL-T1 test package adds battery discharge, OCP and OPP test functions. An optional OEL-V package provides ripple testing for applications requiring additional power-source analysis.
